WHAT
IS ORGANIC FREE RANGE BEEF ?
Put
very simply it means the raising of beef cattle in non
confined areas to graze selectively on what they choose,
and importantly in the course of rearing a young
animal (still suckling its mother) that no
antibiotics, tickicides, licicides, growth promotants,
or artificial fertilisers are used.
Many areas of far western Queensland and indeed many areas
of Australia, could lay claim to the above statement,
but there is a difference.
Here at 'The Oaks' we lay claim to a high degree of management
ability. This allows us to market a quality article year
in and year out, in good seasons and in bad, for as an
organization we are dedicated to an immense amount of
attention to detail, not only to our beef production,
but with regard to grains and small,crops as well. In
short we asses, value and care for a calf from the day
it is born.
The basis of our herd was laid over thirty five years
ago by my late parents (also free range advocates and
non synthetic usage). Today that herd has a genetic base
of size, conformation, uniformity, metabolic conversion
and docility.
We rate docility as probably our greatest asset which
ensures you the valued customer, gets stress free
beef whether the point of sale is either ex Millmerran
or ex any retail outlet.
