Organic Farming at the Oaks
We recognise the word 'organic' as very basic only,
The correct meaning of Eco Agriculture means "Science can assist nature to do a job, but this can only go so far and in the final analysis.

"mother nature knows best"
.

Also regard the word 'Sustainable' as very elementary and contend that our system of land management and usage is not only sustainable, but almost constantly of an ascending or elevative nature, which again correctly describes Ecological/Biological Agriculture.

The basis of healthy, nutritious crops is a healthy and fertile soil.

A fertile soil must have adequate and well balanced mineral levels such as Calcium, Magnesium, Copper, Zinc, Cobalt, Molybdenum, Boron, Iron, Phosphorus, Lithium Carbon (Organic Nitrogen) and the 4F and 5F rare earth groups. These include Vanadium, Gallium, Nickel, Chromium, etc which act as coenzyme factors. A balanced mineral level ensures a balanced soil microbiological population. (Fungi, Bacteria, Algaes, Protozoa, Actinomycetes etc.)

Being on the verge of the Stanthorpe minerals belt, we have different soil types, and even then the mineral levels can vary. In times of drought the grains and vegetable crops harvested from these soils are very nutritious even though the yields may be down. All of these factors contribute towards the health, yield and disease resistance of all of our crops. Rust and other pathogenic diseases are unknown in our cereal crops. So the protein/amino acid levels in all crops render them almost immune from any predatory insect attack, including Grasshoppers.
